How do I know whether I need a repair or a replacement?
Three questions decide it: how old is the roof, is the damage in one place or spread across elevations, and is the decking underneath still sound. One failed flashing on a twelve-year-old roof is a repair. Granule loss across every slope on a twenty-two-year-old roof is not, no matter how tempting the cheaper invoice looks.

Can you match my existing shingles?
Usually close, rarely perfect. Shingle lines get discontinued and colors fade with UV exposure, so a repair patch on a ten-year-old roof will read slightly newer. On a back slope nobody notices. On the front elevation facing the street, we’ll tell you before we start so it isn’t a surprise.

How long should a roof repair last?
A properly executed flashing or valley repair should last as long as the surrounding roof does. If a repair fails within a couple of years, it usually wasn’t a repair — it was sealant applied over the real problem.

Will a repair void my manufacturer’s warranty?
Not if it’s done to spec with compatible materials. What does jeopardize coverage is improper nailing, mismatched components, or a previous repair that wasn’t installed the way the manufacturer requires. We can tell you what’s already been done up there when we inspect.

Should I file an insurance claim for a repair?
Often not. If the repair costs less than your deductible, filing gains you nothing and puts a claim on your record. Storm and impact damage is a different conversation — that’s what the coverage exists for.
